Our Mission

Eagleclaw Analytics is built on the belief that all high school athletes deserve clear, quantifiable information to make informed decisions about their college futures, both on the field and in the classroom. By consolidating millions of data points on college baseball and softball commits across all levels of college athletics, we’ve created a roadmap that helps prospects compare their current athletic and academic skill sets to those of former commits. This empowers athletes to set realistic, trackable goals and explore hundreds of college opportunities that align with their skills, aspirations, and preferences. Our mission is to ensure every athlete finds a college where they can thrive academically, athletically, and personally—because you only get one college experience, and it should be the right one.

Our Process

We take pride in being the only athletic testing service to provide athletes with a realistic college direction based on their results, academic backgrounds, and college preferences. By using real colleges as examples of potential best fits, we don’t just claim to prepare athletes for the next level; we actively guide them on a concrete path to achieving it.

1. Athletic Testing through College Placement Combines:

This first step provides athletes with a contextualized viewpoint of their current abilities in a variety of sport-specific athletic skill sets (throwing velocity, exit velocity, pop time, 60 yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, and pro shuttle) measured with radar guns and the same laser timing devices used in the NFL and MLB combines.

2. Contextualizing the Results:

After the combine, each athlete receives a PDF report placing their testing results in the context of college baseball or softball, including 10 real college examples that align with their current athletic projections, academic background, and stated college preferences.

3. Empowering Athletes with Research Tools:

Athletes are encouraged to dive deeper using our College Research Platform, which contains advanced athletic, academic, financial, and recruiting data for every college baseball and softball program in the U.S. They can explore average metrics such as throwing velocity, exit velocity, or foot speed for college commits, along with the typical GPA and test scores of admitted students at each school. This allows them to set realistic, quantifiable goals for their development both on and off the field, tailored to specific colleges of interest.

The NFL Combine Meets Baseball and Softball Training

College coaches evaluate more than just throwing velocity and exit velocity, and our combines do too. Take a look at a typical college starting lineup, and you will find pure athletes all over the field. The term "5-Tool Player," once used to describe rare athletes possessing all five core skill sets (Speed, Throwing, Fielding, Hitting for Average, and Hitting for Power), has become much more common. Speed is no longer reserved for center fielders and shortstops, and power is no longer just for the corners. To be successful at the college level, a comprehensive skill set is required—not just a sport-specific one. That's why we've partnered with Zybek Sports, the industry standard in pure athletic testing, as evidenced by their involvement with the NFL since 2010. Together, we give ballplayers the ability to measure, train, and develop their full skill sets in pursuit of next-level opportunities.

Conducting the "Steal RAT Test" at Coastal Carolina

The fastest players on the team aren’t always the best base stealers, a distinction effectively measured by our Steal RAT (Reactive Agility Test). This test incorporates a timed reactive element that evaluates an athlete's reaction time and technique when stealing second base, using a red light-green light system positioned on the pitcher's mound. By factoring in both reaction time and technique along with raw speed, we empower coaching staffs across the country to identify their most effective base stealers. Furthermore, coaches can train, track, and develop their athletes, enhancing their success on the basepaths.

Curious How Zybek Technology is Used at the NFL Combine?

Mike Weinstein, founder of Zybek Sports, joins host Ric Serritella on The State of Football to discuss the cutting-edge technology Zybek provides to NFL scouts, including reliable laser timing at the combine and pro-day events. Ric and Montreal's Director of US Scouting, Russ Lande, challenge Mike with tough questions about whether laser timing surpasses traditional handheld methods. Mike explains how Zybek Sports analyzes various aspects of an athlete’s ability—such as power, explosiveness, agility, and intelligence—helping teams identify the best fit. He also reveals which player clocked the fastest 40-yard dash on his laser timing system.
